Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar’s 2.0 teaser hits over 32 million views in just 24 hours!
This is what you call the effect of bringing two superstars Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth together in a film. To say the least, this is just a beginning. On Thursday, the makers dropped the teaser of this S Shankar-directorial and in just less than 24 hours, the video clocked more than 32 million views from different platforms including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. It raked in 24 million views from YouTube along and the rest has been contributed by the film’s Tamil, Hindi and Telugu teasers. The 2.0 teaser was released in theatres in 3D and 2D formats.
The production house of the film Lyca Productions tweeted the details writing, “Thanks to the lovely fans who showed amazing response for our 2.0 teaser in the theatres.”
For those who came late, 2.0 is the sequel of 2010 hit film Enthiran (Robot in Hindi) which starred Rajinikanth in double role and also Aishwarya Rai Bachchan playing his love interest. The story revolves around a brainy scientist Dr Vaseegaran and his brainchild Chitti Robot. The robot turns against his own creator, developing romantic feelings for his ladylove played by Aishwarya. In the seuql, he will be joining hands with the new enemy Akshay Kumar. Needless to say, the excitement level in this sequel has been upped by several notches by the stupendous special effects.
Earlier in 2018, Rajinikanth was seen in Kaala which is based on the uprising of a Tamil man in Mumbai. The film brought lukewarm response at the box office. However, the high expectations are rested upon the shoulders of 2.0 citing the previous film’s massive success.
After several reschedules, 2.0 is finally releasing on November 29, pushing many Bollywood films to next year.
