2.0 Box Office Collection Day 5: Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar’s film stays strong, crosses 100 crore mark

Director Shankar's ambitious film 2.0 features Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson in the lead roles. The film took a thunderous opening at the box office and now the Hindi version of the film has cruised past 100 crore mark. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, “After packing an impressive total in its *extended* opening weekend, #2Point0 stays SUPER-STRONG on the crucial Mon… Collecting double digits on a working day [Mon] - without enhanced ticket rates - indicates it has stamina to perform well on weekdays. Note: HINDI version”.

“#2Point0 cruises past ₹ 100 cr mark on Day 5 [Mon]… Will emerge Akshay Kumar’s highest grosser *before* Week 1 concludes... Thu 20.25 cr, Fri 18 cr, Sat 25 cr, Sun 34 cr, Mon 13.75 cr. Total: ₹ 111 cr. India biz. Note: HINDI version”, Taran Adarsh announced 2.0 Box Office Collection Day 5.

2.0 is doing exceedingly well at the worldwide box-office. Trade analyst Ramesh Bala said that the film is performing better than Hollywood move Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. It is said that from November 29 to December 2, 2.0 has collected about Rs 400 crore across the world.

In 2.0, Rajinikanth appears in multiple avatars - as that of Dr Vaseegaran, Chitti, 2.0 and 3.0. It is indeed a joy to his ardent fans to see him own the film even after four decades since he stepped foot in Kollywood.

On the other hand, Akshay Kumar has had the best Tamil debut with 2.0. He is almost unrecognisable as Pakshirajan but delivers an arresting performance. Akshay Kumar makes a fantastic first impression in Tamil cinema with his role as Pakshirajan in 2.0. Reports say that Akshay's role, that of an ornithology professor, is based on the Birdman of India Salim Ali
