B-Town celebrities have come out in support of Jaya Bachchan for her statement defending Bollywood which is mired in controversy related to being infused with drugs. It all happened when BJP MP Ravi Kishan targeted the film industry for being drug infested, after which Jaya Bachchan slammed him with her remarks.

Many celebs including filmmaker Anubhav Sinha spoke about her on social media and praised her unfiltered views. The Thappad director who is known for speaking his mind, tweeted saying, "This is what spine looks like”.  In his tweet he also added, "I send my greetings to Jaya ji. Those who don't know can see that this is what the spine looks like.”

Apart from the Sinha, actor Taapsee Pannu also lauded Jaya Bachchan’s speech. She took to her Twitter handle and wrote in support for the veteran actress and Rajya Sabha MP. She said, "For we have always stood by the initiatives, causes and awareness campaigns. It's time for payback. Hitting the nail on its head and how! Yet again a woman from the industry spoke up #Respect."

Jaya Bachchan in Rajya Sabha had said, "People in the entertainment industry are being flogged by social media. People who made their names in the industry have called it a gutter. I completely disagree. I hope that govt tells such people not to use this kind of language."

She further added, "Some of the people who have got name and fame has said it is gutter."

Bachchan also targeted some people who are trying to defame the film industry. Jaya spoke, "It is the film industry that gave name and fame to many people."

The ongoing drug controversy in Bollywood sharpened after Sushant Singh Rajput’s death on June 14. Ever since, Bollywood has been divided in parts where a few people like Kangana Ranaut are accusing some of the main stream actors in the industry of consuming drugs.
