Noted Afghan singer Hasiba Noori, who was reported to be killed by unknown gunmen in Kuza of Pakistan's Pakhtunkhwa earlier today, is alive. By the end of the day, the news of her demise was confirmed to be fake. A TikTok video is now viral in which Noori can be heard denying the news of her demise as fake.

Journalist Iftikhar Firdous also confirmed her well-being on Twitter. He wrote, "FACT CHECK: Just spoke to Haseeba Noori, the Afghan Singer who was reported to be killed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. She is well and alive. She is in Karachi. Social media and some news websites shared the news of her death. Her picture was taken while she was undergoing an operation and was under the effect of anesthesia."

Who is Hasiba Noori?
The 38-year-old Afghan singer rose to prominence with her song Pashtun. She had featured on several Afghan channels like AMC TV and Ariana Television and popularised traditional folk songs with a modern twist. Over the years, she released multiple songs including Ala Yaram, Khab Telayi, Mina, Sabza Janam, Tappy Banjariya, Ba Pas Muhabat, and others.
In August 2021, along with other celebrities, Hasiba Noori too chose to leave her homeland and sought refuge in Pakistan. After fleeing the Taliban invaded Afghanistan, she shared her geographical location on TikTok, claimed a Twitter user.
