Amitabh Bachchan never fails to praise good films and always promotes his friends projects. This time again Big B did the same by sharing a teaser of one of his close friend Apoorva Lakhia’s upcoming web show, Crackdown. He took to his Twitter handle to unveil the teaser and wrote, “T 3657 - Happy to reveal #CrackdownOnVoot, my friend #lakhiaapoorva’s new show on @vootselect. All the very best Apu !”
The web show is an espionage thriller which marks the digital debut of director Apoorva Lakhia. It casts actors like Saqib Saleem, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Iqbal Khan, Waluscha De Sousa, Rajesh Tailang and Ankur Bhatia.
The high-voltage teaser had a lot of chase sequences alongwith a few glimpses of Qutub Minar in Delhi. The one-minute-long video showed multiple attacks at a hospital and in a crowded market.
Going by the teaser, Crackdown seems to be revolving around an operations wing which is trying to track multiple smaller decoys to uncover a larger conspiracy. In the process of decoding the mastermind who is conspiring against the national security, the officers find an able ally in a girl whose identity remains a mystery. The show is set to premiere on OTT platform, Voot Select on September 23.
Not just Big B, but the actor Saqib Salim also shared the teaser on his Instagram account and wrote, “Crackdown means a series of severe measures to restrict undesirable or illegal people or behaviour. Here’s the first look at our blood, sweat and tears - literally!”
Actress Waluscha who is also a part of Crackdown had earlier shared the first poster of the show introducing the characters. She captioned it as, “When #TheClockIsTicking, and danger threatens India, yeh special agents humme haarne nahi degi. Find out about these heroes by watching #Crackdown, a new Voot Select Original webseries, on 23rd September.”
Meanwhile, talking about Saqib Salim, he has earlier been a part of a number of web shows such as Rangbaaz and Pyaar Actually - Real is Rare. The actor is all set to be seen in Kabir Khan’s 83 as former cricketer Mohinder Amarnath. On the other hand, actress Shriya Pilgaonkar has also appeared in quite a few series including the just-released, The Gone Game and apart from that Beecham House and the popular Mirzapur.
