When Kareena Kapoor wanted to go on a date with Rahul Gandhi
Kareena Kapoor Khan doesn't mince her words. The actress has always been outspoken. However, during her latest appearance on Koffee With Karan 6, she had a filter and more balanced approached in making statements. Meanwhile, a throwback video is doing the rounds on social media which gives us a glimpse of Kareena from her early days. The actress appeared on Rendezvous With Simi Garewal soon after making her Bollywood debut with JP Dutta's Refugee. In the interview, when she was asked who she would like to go on a date with, after thinking a bit she revealed the name.
Hold on your horses! Before you start predicting, let us tell you that he is not from the film fraternity. Back then, Kareena wanted to date Rahul Gandhi. She expressed her desire to know him better. The actress emphasised that both of them are from illustrious families, while one has a political lineage, the other belongs to a film background.
“Shall I say this, I don’t know if I should. But I don’t mind it’s controversial. Rahul Gandhi. I’d like to know him. I have been flipping though his pictures in a magazine and wondering what would it be like to have a conversation with him. I come from a family with a lineage of films and he comes from a family with lineage of politics. So, may be we’d make an interesting conversation,” she said. Can't believe us? On the professional front, Kareena has kick-started working on her next project, which is Dharma Productions' Good News. The movie also has Akshay Kumar, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani in important roles. Kareena will feature opposite Akshay in the comedy-drama, which is about a married couple trying to have a baby.
Recently pictures of Kareena with a baby bump was doing the rounds on the internet. In the photos, she can be seen wearing a grey t-shirt and joggers. She has layered her outfit with a black and white calf-length cape. Check out the pictures below:
Kareena will also be seen in Karan Johar's directorial Takht, which is a multi-starrer period drama. Talking about the movie, she had said, “It's a different film because I've not really done a period film like this. There will be a certain amount of dialect preparation, look tests that will happen. I'm also working with Karan after a very long time so I'm very excited. Hopefully it'll be a part which will be remembered because it's socially relevant. It's a strong character. The best part is it'll be completely different than what I did in 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham' as Poo.”
Takht also features Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor in important roles.
