Shahid Kapoor reveals he made Karisma Kapoor give 15 retakes while filming Dil Toh Pagal Hai song ‘Le Gayi’
Shahid Kapoor is undoubtedly one of the best actors and dancers the country has. But there was a time that his dancing skills made Bollywood beauty Karisma Kapoor suffer and give 15 retakes while filming her most popular track ‘Le Gayi Le Gayi’ from the film Dil To Pagal Hai. Shahid Kapoor has often impressed the audience with his sassy dance moves and skills at various award functions as well as in movies. However, when Shahid Kapoor appeared for an interview with Filmfare, he recalled the incident when because of him, Karisma Kapoor had to give 15 retakes and she was irritated.
Taking to Jitesh Pillai for Famously Filmfare, Shahid Kapoor revealed, “There was one guy who was slightly offbeat. I swear, with really big hair on his head, that’s me. I remember I won’t call her Karisma because that time she was Karisma Kapoor, had to do 15 retakes because of me. And, once she turned back and said ye kaun hai? Kaun Hai Ye? And, I was like hiding myself and saying main nahi hoon, main nahi hoon. I had just joined Shyamak Davar and my hair used to settle down half a beat after I settled down. So, it was actually not my fault. It was just the length of my hair.”
Interestingly, Shahid Kapoor had just joined the Shiamak Davar classes at that time and the song was his first stint as the background dancer. After this, Shahid was also seen in Taal’s Kahi Aag Lage as a background dancer. Shah Rukh Khan, Karisma Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit starrer Dil To Pagal Hai went on to become a big success an this particular song ruled many charts at that time.

While talking about Shahid Kapoor’s relationship status in the show, Simi Garewal reveals that he has a woman in his life who is most important to her and then a video of Shahid Kapoor’s mother, Neelima Azeem pops up. In the video, Azeem talks about an incident in which a ‘puny French guy’ was following her and before he could say anything to her, Shahid stood in front of him and said, ‘Excuse me sir before you talk to her, you have to deal with me’.
