Saina Nehwal biopic: Director Amol Gupte unhappy with Shraddha Kapoor?

Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor who was last seen in the horror comedy Stree is all set to wow the audience in Saina Nehwal biopic. There has been much delay and work is rather slow on the project. Earlier reports suggested that director Amol Gupte was upset with Shraddha over the second-hand treatment of Saina Nehwal biopic.

In a group interview, Shraddha wad asked about the much delay in the project. On this, she said, "Yes, it was tough and I wanted to take time for training. Well, if you are playing the role of a real-life hero, you need to make sure that you're convincing and the audience relates to it. It's not easy and I want to ace the game. I wanted to go ahead when I am totally prepared for it."

However, a source close to the project laughed off the rumours to Pinkvilla and said, “There is no truth to all these speculations, Amole sir and Shraddha are in the best of terms and continue to share a cordial equation. Such rumours are hilariously baseless.” The actress has been training really hard to get into the shoes of Saina, who has been a national sports sensation.

Shraddha said she was really honoured to essay the role of the Indian badminton star in the film. Shraddha took to her Twitter handle to express her happiness. "Saina Nehwal -- The former World number one badminton player. An Indian girl. An inspiration to millions. A youth icon in the truest sense," Shraddha had tweeted.

It may be recalled that the film’s shoot has been delayed many times. However, the Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series- produced film finally went on floors on September 22, 2018.  Speaking about it, Shraddha had said: “We are making lots of preparations for this film and we are doing it for a long time.”

Saina Nehwal’s 2012 Olympic bronze medal is one of the most defining moments in Indian sporting history. She won the badminton singles Commonwealth Gold for India in 2010, and then again in 2018, helped clinch the team gold in badminton for India.
