There is a piece of good news for BLINKS. BLACKPINK member Jisoo will reportedly star in an upcoming film titled Omniscient Reader. The K-pop idol is currently in talks and is thinking of considering taking up the role. This will mark Jisoo's first role in a major project. She reportedly will be playing the role of Lee Ji Hae. According to reports, the upcoming project will also feature Nana, Ahn Hyo Seop, Chae Soo Bin, and Jung Sung Il.
Omniscient Reader is based on the Korean webtoon of the same name and tells the story of a reader who finds himself in the world of the novel he is reading. His life turns upside down when the novel's story becomes a reality and he is the only person who is aware of how the world will end. Dokja uses his knowledge to change the story and survive.
The webtoon was released in 2018 and is regarded as one of the most popular webtoon to date. For the unversed, Ahn Hyo Seop is known for his series including Business Proposal, Dr Romantic, A Time Called You, and Still 17 among others, While Nana was last seen in the dark thriller Mask Girl.
Apart from this upcoming project, Jisoo will next be seen in another K-drama titled Influenza. She will be seen alongside Park Jun Ming, who is widely regarded as one of the best actors of his generation. Influenza will be based on a novel of the same name and will mostly take place in an air-defense building in Seoul. The drama will be based on a soldier and his ex-girlfriend finding each other amid a zombie apocalypse.
Jisoo will be playing the role of Young Joo, whose boyfriend is in the military and the K-Drama's lead. Influenza is penned by acclaimed screenwriter Han Ji Won, known for her involvement in the critically acclaimed film Parasite. Despite the buzz surrounding the drama, an official broadcast date is yet to be announced.
