Los Angeles, Feb 11: American rock band the Black Keys and its member Dan Auerbach together lifted four trophies at the 55th Grammy awards here, while Skrillex, Gotye and duo Jay-Z and Kanye West, notched up three wins each. Late Indian sitar maestro Ravi Shankar won the best world music album and the posthumous Lifetime Achievement awards.

The Black Keys won the best rock performance and best rock song for "Lonely Boy" from the album "El Camino", which also bagged the best rock album title.

Dan Auerbach, the band's guitarist-vocalist, separately won the producer of the year, non-classical trophy.

Ravi Shankar's album "The Living Room Sessions Part 1" won the title, while he was also conferred a posthumous Lifetime Achievement award. His daughters musicians Anoushka Shankar and Norah Jones received the awards on his behalf.

Awards were given out to artists across 81 categories at the gala, where performances by Adele, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Alicia Keys and Rihanna infused musical entertainment on stage.

British indie rock band Mumford & Sons received two Grammys, including the biggest, the album of the year title for "Babel" at the glitzy, livewire event, held here at the Staples Center Sunday night.

Electronic musician Skrillex won for dance recording and dance/electronica album for "Bangarang", and the remixed recording, non-classical title for "Promises".

"Somebody that I used to know" singer Gotye received top hounour 'record of the year' for the track, and also won the best pop duo/group performance award. He even bagged the best alternative music album for "Making Mirrors".

Adele, who stole the Grammy show in 2012 with six trophies, walked away with the winner's trophy in the best pop solo performance category for "Set Fire To The Rain *(Live)". She was competing alongside Kelly Clarkson ("Stronger"), Carly Rae Jepsen ("Call Me Maybe"), Katy Perry ("Wide Awake") and Rihanna ("Where Have You Been").

The best traditional pop vocal album award went to Paul McCartney for "Kisses On The Bottom", and Beyonce Knowles walked away with the award for the best traditional R&B performance for her song "Love On Top" from her album "4".

Band Fun not just got the gong for the best new artist, it also received the coveted song of the year for "We are young".

This year, "a standard and practice wardrobe advisory" was reportedly issued to all celebrities. The organisers slapped a ban on thongs, exposed breasts or any such obscene apparel and most guests stuck to the dress code.

Indian composer A.R. Rahman was in attendance with his wife Saira Banu.
