Los Angeles, March 20: Actress Sofia Vergara confirmed to Vogue that she is preparing to have a second child through a process that involves freezing her eggs.
The 40-year-old "Modern Family" star said she has to be careful of what she eats and that she is already taking hormone pills, to be followed by injections.
The Colombian actress' first child, Manolo Gonzalez, is 21.
"(T)hey want to get as many good eggs as they can because usually you produce them but they're not good. They have to be perfect, perfect, perfect ones," Vergara told the magazine.
"My boyfriend (Nick Loeb) is 37, younger than me, never had kids. So...," she said.
Vergara proudly displayed the engagement ring Loeb gave her last year.
"I love it, because it's big enough. If it had been bigger, I couldn't have worn it every day. And if it had been smaller, I wouldn't have liked it," she told Vogue.
Vergara earned $19 million in 2012 to become the highest-paid woman on television, according to Forbes magazine.
