Las Vegas, Nov 10: International politics and pulsating beats are coming together for Latin music's biggest night.
The 12th annual Latin Grammy Awards are being held Thursday night in Las Vegas, with Shakira, Pitbull, Usher and Marc Anthony among the dozens of international pop stars scheduled to take the stage during the three-hour show.
Puerto Rican hip-hop music duo Calle 13 was nominated for a record 10 Latin Grammy nominations for the anti-establishment album “Entren Los Que Quieran.”
Shakira has the second-highest nominations, with three nods, including for best album.
The award show represents the diversity of Latin American music, with performers from Mexico, Brazil, Cuba, Venezuela, Uruguay, Argentina, Spain and other nations coming together to celebrate pop, rock, salsa, rap and other genres.
