Los Angeles: A visit to a Sudanese refugee camp in Kenya had a huge impact on actress Reese Witherspoon and her teenage daughter Ava.
Witherspoon took her 15-year-old daughter to the area to research her new movie "Inherent Vice". She has said that watching 250,000 people displaced, sleeping on concrete slabs, and kids who were unwell, was a "very emotional" experience, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
However, she didn't regret putting her daughter through this experiecce.
"Ava didn't say a word the whole day. I think it's going to affect her for a long time, as it will (to) me," Witherspoon said.
She feels technology disconnects young minds from life, and travel is the only way to change that.
"As much of the world as you can show them is great," she said.
