Los Angeles, Jun 2: Despite a less than spectacular launch in North America, "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" continued its commanding run in international waters this past weekend, topping the foreign box office chart with $108 million in 50 territories and raising its worldwide total to more than $571 million as of Sunday night.
"The Hangover 2" broke stateside box office records in its debut while simultaneously enjoying great success in the overseas marketplace, landing in second place with nearly $58 million in 33 territories and easily crossing the $200 million global mark in just a few days.
"Kung Fu Panda 2" had a third-place foreign debut of $36 million in nine international territories. In China, the movie was a smash in IMAX, opening Saturday in 22 locations and generating over $300,000 on that day alone.
