Los Angeles, Jun 8 : Is Paris Hilton still hot in the world of reality television?
Her new reality show, "The World According to Paris," premiered last week on the Oxygen network with a meager 409 thousand viewers. Despite the low numbers, Hilton remains very positive that her docu-series will attract more viewers.
"I'm really proud of the show, I put a lot of hard work into it," said Hilton. "It was actually Oxygen's highest premier day for a Wednesday night. So, they were really happy with the results."
In the new show, Hilton appears alongside her mom Kathy Hilton, boyfriend Cy Waits and Charlie Sheen's ex Brooke Mueller.
"'The World According to Paris,' is an inside look at my life, my family and my friends and everything that happens," explained Hilton. "So, people are really going to get to be a fly on the wall and see what it is like to be me."
Now that the party girl has entered her 30s, she wants audiences to see a different side of her.
"There is definitely a lot of misconceptions about me I think people assume just because I come from a Hilton family, that everything has been handed to me, and I've never had to work," said Hilton. "But actually, it is the complete opposite. I've worked very hard for everything I have, and everything I've created is done on my own."
Hilton serves as the show's Executive Producer as well as the star. This means she has full editorial power over which scenes stay and the ones that will never see the light of day.
"When we are editing the show, I watch it and there are a lot of scenes that I wanted taken out, but then I talk with the other producers and they tell me to think like a producer," said Hilton. "So, we end up keeping them in."
Aside from filming the new reality show, Hilton is also busy building her brand. At the moment she has 17 different product lines with her name ranging from clothes, handbags, sunglasses and perfumes, and there's more to come.
"I am always super busy," said Hilton. "I'm now working on my second album, which I am really excited about. Also, I'm working on real estate. I'll be opening my own beach clubs and hotels. So, that is something that I'm really looking forward to." AP
