Oscars 2022 has finally kickstarted! After two years of the COVID-19 pandemic, the ceremony is finally being held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. The event is being hosted by Amy Schumer, Regina Hall and Wanda Sykes and is seeing a number of presenters this time. Just in case, you are excited about the 94th annual Academy Awards, here's the LIVE update having details of the red carpet, performances and the list of winners.

Oscar Award 2022 LIVE Updates: After much wait, the 94th Academy Awards ceremony is finally taking place on Sunday, March 27, 2022. The ceremony just like every time is being held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. Produced by Will Packer and Shayla Cowan, the show is telecasting live on ABC at 8 pm ET/ 5 pm PT. After two years of the COVID-19 pandemic, the award show will finally see various celebrities walking on the red carpet looking their best. The event is being hosted by Amy Schumer, Regina Hall and Wanda Sykes and is seeing a number of presenters this time. The list of celebs who will give away the awards includes names of-- Jason Momoa, Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Josh Brolin, Jacob Elordi, Jake Gyllenhaal, Jill Scott, J.K. Simmons and  Rachel Zegler. After the nomination list was announced, excitement arose amongst the fans about the list of winners.

    Oscars 2022 Best Animated Feature Film goes to 'Encanto'

    The computer-animated musical fantasy comedy film 'Encanto' grabbed the Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film at the 94th Oscars, held at the Dolby Theatre. With this, Byron Howard, the Co-director of the film, got his second Oscar for Howard and Walt Disney Animation Studios President Spencer, both of whom previously won the category in 2017 for Disney's 'Zootopia'.

    Troy Kotsur becomes second deaf actor to win Oscar trophy

    "CODA" star Troy Kotsur scripted history as he became the second deaf person to win the best supporting actor trophy at the Oscars. His win comes more than 35 years after his co-star Marlee Matlin won an Oscar for lead actress for “Children of a Lesser God” (1986). Kotsur dedicated his win to the deaf, disabled and "CODA" community.

    "It is amazing to be here. I cannot believe that I am here. Thank you to the Academy for recognising my work," an emotional Kotsur said through an interpreter of the American Sign Language (ASL) in his acceptance speech.

    Ariana DeBose wins best supporting actress Oscar for 'West Side Story'

    Actor-dancer Ariana DeBose was named the best supporting actress at the 94th edition of the Academy Awards for her performance in Steven Spielberg's adaptation of the iconic Broadway musical "West Side Story". 

    "To anybody who also ever questioned your identity or you find yourself living in the grey spaces...I promise you this. There is indeed a place for us," DeBose said in her award acceptance speech.

    Interestingly, her win comes six decades after Rita Moreno won the best supporting actress Oscar for her role as Anita in "West Side Story", also directed by Spielberg.

    Beyonce opens ceremony with tennis-themed performance at Serena, Venus Williams' hometown court

    Beyonce opened the 94th Academy Awards and gave a tribute to Venus and Serena Williams at the famed tennis court in Compton. The singer performed 'Be Alive', which happens to be her song from the Will Smith-starrer 'King Richard', based on the Williams sisters. The performance had opened with a number of characteristically statuesque Beyonce dancers, and they were dressed up in tennis-ball-green outfits. They appeared to be walking down a Compton street toward the courts. Beyonce and Jay-Z's daughter Blue Ivy was also dancing at the front.
