London: Popular British bands - One Direction, Coldplay and Clean Bandit - have been roped in to perform at the inaugural BBC Music Awards.
Apart from the bands, the Dec 11 event will also see the participation of artists like Ed Sheeran, Calvin Harris and Paloma Faith, the U.K. public broadcaster announced Friday, reports hollywoodreporter.com.
"We're really looking forward to the BBC Music Awards. It's an incredible lineup and we're honoured to be part of it," Coldplay frontman Chris Martin said in a statement.
Hosted by BBC radio and TV personalities Chris Evans and Fearne Cotton, the award show will be broadcast live.
