London, Jul 27: Nicolas Cage was inspired by cobras when working on the characteristics of Ghost Rider for the sequel.
The veteran actor will portray both lead character Johnny Blaze and his alter-ego in ‘Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengence' - unlike the first film where the supernatural character is CGI created - and he admits playing a bike rider who sells his soul to the devil required him to come up with unusual inspiration.
He told website Superhero Hype: “One of the things this movie gave me the chance to do which I didn't get to do in the first one is play Ghost Rider, which is interesting to me because it's all about how do you move if you're from a different dimension?
“Directors Brian Taylor and Mark Neveldine and I we all got in a room and explored different movements and body language, referenced some animals - and cobra kept coming back to me.”
The 47-year-old star recently revealed the sequel to the 2007 movie - which grossed $228 million -would mess with the minds of fans.
He said: “It means a lot to me. I have high hopes for it. I'm very confident that something special is going to come out of this experience. You can just feel it on the set.
“I don't want to give anything away, but I know that the Ghost Rider character will definitely mess with their minds.”
