New York, Oct 5: Jewellery worth $1,25,000 was stolen from actress Julianne Moore's West Village home during summer, according to a police source.
The jewellery disappeared from the actress' house between early June and late August, police sources said. The items that vanished included a $33,000-worth Cartier platinum diamond tennis bracelet and four Cartier watches, reports nydailynews.com.
"This makes me nervous. That's a lot of money," said Esef Isiks, 30, who manages nearby wine bar Turks & Frogs.
The house was being remodelled while the actress and her husband, director Bart Freundlich, were out of town, the police source said.
Moore was in Toronto filming a remake of the horror movie "Carrie" and was later in Montauk, New York, the source said.
Moore had reportedly kept the kitty of jewels in an unsecure spot in her house.
An assistant to Moore reported the theft to police Oct 1, the source said.
No arrests have been made so far, but policemen are questioning workers who were hired to do interior renovation and plumbing inside the posh house.
"It's sad to hear something like this happened to one of your neighbours," said Bob Gibson, a long time resident on Moore's block.
