Beijing: Actress Megan Fox was forced to skip the premiere of her film "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" here after she developed skin allergy.
On Sunday morning, the actress joined producers for a press conference at a hotel here to discuss the film's release. But a few hours later, fans, who were hoping to spot her on the red carpet, were left disappointed after the 28-year-old had to miss the premiere, reports eonline.com.
Chinese actress Fan Bingbing attended the special event in her place, but not before Chinese media outfits speculated that Fox's allergy could have been caused by the polluted air.
Fox's team, however, said that that wasn't the case.
"She had an allergic reaction, but not because of the pollution," said a spokesperson.
