Los Angeles: After essaying politician Francis Underwood in "House of Cards", Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey has agreed to play Britain's former prime minister Winston Churchill on the big screen.
Sierra/Affinity is producing and fully financing the project titled "Captain of the Gate" for roughly $20 million, and StudioCanal is in early talks to come on board as a producer, reports hollywoodreporter.com.
Churchill held the prime minister's post in Britain from 1940 to 1945 and again from 1951 to 1955. The film chronicles his rise to power.
The producers are currently looking for a director for the film.
