London, Nov 3: Singer Kelly Clarkson says her sad songs are not drawn from her personal experience. The ‘Mr. Know It All' hit maker, who doesn't mind being called the Breakup Anthem Queen, thinks songs about the end of relationships are “sassy”.
“I love a feisty song. I like to be sassy. That's usually a breakup song. It's really in your face. I just end up writing it more that way because it's better for mainstream radio.
“A lot of times, if I'm writing, a lot of people think that's about a guy; it's not actually about that. It's more about my work environment. I write ‘metaphorically speaking' a lot. I actually haven't dated in a while, so there's no breakup song for me on there,” she said.
Clarkson, 29, admits the pain of one particular breakup with a “loser guy” is still fresh in her mind. “I have been through one breakup that was real crappy. I think that'll last me for a lifetime, so I'm good. “He was just a really loser guy and that kind of whole situation. I don't know what was wrong with me. I was never in love with him. We're completely different. I don't even know why,” she added.
