Melbourne: Country singer Keith Urban has lost out to Taylor Swift in the entertainer of the year category at the annual Academy of Country Music Awards, despite getting three nominations.
Urban, 43, left empty-handed from the ceremony in Las Vegas, while Swift, 21, who was up for four awards, also triumphed over Brad Paisley, Toby Keith, Jason Aldean and Miranda Lambert.
Swift was very excited and nervous about the win, which was voted on by fans, and she said was losing her mind after getting the award, the most prestigious of the night.
Urban also missed out on male vocalist of the year, with the award going to Paisley for the fifth year in a row.
"This is way too many for me. I don't know who got paid what. No, I'm kidding, kidding. It's all very fair," the Herald Sun quoted Paisley as saying.
His third nomination was for vocal event of the year with the award going to the Zac Brown Band and Alan Jackson for their collaboration on 'As She's Walking Away'.
Lambert was the night's big winner, walking away with four awards - song, single and video of the year for her hit 'The House That Built Me' and female vocalist of the year.
