But, as Katy Perry stepped out in Hollywood yesterday, she certainly appeared to be attempting to draw attention to herself.
The 26-year-old singer teamed her newly-dyed bright pink hair with a barely-there tassel dress, which showed off her slim figure.
However, despite her attention-grabbing outfit, Katy seemed less than happy as she spotted paparazzi, hiding her face behind her face as she picked up some crisps from a petrol station.
Katy teamed her dress, which was incredibly short, with a pair of blue sunglasses, flip-flops and coloured bangles.
It's been a busy few weeks for Katy, who has been travelling around America with her California Dreams tour.
But, after performing at Chicago's Allstate Arena on Sunday night, the singer decided to let off some steam as she and her crew spent the day at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee.
Along with some of her dancers, and her supporting artist Natalia Kills, Katy had a go on some adrenaline-pumping rides including Vertical Velocity and Raging Bull.
In photographs released by the theme park, Russell Brand's wife is seen grinning from ear to ear as she zooms around on the rollercoasters.
In the shots, Katy still sports her pink hair, but appears to have had it re-dyed into a brighter pink colour before stepping out in Los Angeles yesterday.
The candy floss coloured hair is the latest in a long line of different ‘dos Katy has experimented with over the past few years.
Katy, who is a natural blonde, has spent years maintaining her hair as a dark brunette, even dyeing her eyebrows and eyelashes to match.
But earlier this month she sported a strawberry blonde colour after deciding she wanted to change her dark hair to a lighter blonde shade.
However, Katy was told by hairdressers the process would have to be done in two stages, but the singer hasn't exactly been thrilled with her various looks.
She wrote last month: ‘So I didn't get to the exact color (sic) I wanted from being black for so long! 2get to goal I have 2b GINGER for 3WKS.
‘If I don't wait 3wks, I'll end up w/no hair or a #pixie90scutw/abarretteinthefront It's okay, I'll get to my secret color(s) soon! #patience.'
