Los Angeles: Actress Katie Holmes says she's living by three mantras nowadays, and on her professional front, she's hoping to break new grounds.
"I don't have any fear now, I don't have a lot of rules for myself, and I don't take myself that seriously," Holmes told People magazine in an interview.
As for her career, she said: "I feel ready for new challenges."
The 35-year-old, who will next be seen in the new black comedy "Miss Meadows", releasing Nov 14, will also soon go behind the camera for her directorial debut.
Her career is her focus as of now as she does not want her 2012 divorce from Tom Cruise to overshadow the person she is.
"I don't want that moment in my life to define me, to be who I am. I don't want that to be what I'm known as. I was an actor before, an actor during and an actor now," she said.
Holmes's life also centres around her eight-year-old daughter Suri as she "means everything to me".
"I'm learning every day, and I have been since the minute I became a mom," she added.
