New York: Actress Kathleen Turner will play a recovering alcoholic nun in a new play due to open on Broadway in April, producers said on Friday.
Turner, 56, best known for her roles in the movies Romancing the Stone and Prizzi's Honour, will play Sister Jamison Connelly in the play High by writer Matthew Lombardo.
High looks at the relationship between a 19 year-old drug addict who is helped by Turner's character. It marks the first return of Turner to Broadway since her 2005 Tony-nominated appearance in a revival of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?.
Producers said that High would begin previews on March 25 and officially open on April 19. They warned that the play contains strong language and nudity and said audience members under 17 years-old should be accompanied by a parent.
