Hollywood's 42-year-old actor Julia Roberts says she piled on the pounds eating pizza while shooting her latest film, Eat, Pray, Love . But compared with last summer's beach snaps, it seems her only new curves are in an area that many women dream of enhancing.
Roberts was on holiday in Hawaii with her husband, Daniel Moder, and their three children, 5- year- old twins Hazel and Finn, and son Henry, 3, as she took a break after promoting the movie.
Following filming of Eat, Pray, Love earlier this year, she said: “ When we were in Naples, we started shooting at eight in the morning, and I think by 8.45 I'd eaten eight or ten pieces of pizza. Pizza was what I ate all day that day. By the time we left Rome I was 3 or 4 kg heavier.”
In the film, based on the bestselling book of the same name written by Elizabeth Gilbert, she plays a recently divorced woman travelling the world trying to find herself. Roberts's character visits Italy for food, India for spirituality and Bali, where she finds love.
Roberts, who is the face of the cosmetics company Lancome, has spoken out about the fashion for cosmetic surgery and always refused to go under the knife to combat the ageing process.
