Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie has rubbished reports that her directorial debut involves a rape victim who falls in love with her rapist.
The rumours made the rounds following denial of a filming permit in Bosnia because no screenplay was attached to the application, as required by law.
"There are many twists in the plot that address the sensitive nature of the relationship between the main characters, and that will be revealed once the film is released. My hope is that people will hold judgment until they have seen the film," US magazine quoted Jolie as saying.
A source also said, "This is not the story in the script. There are people trying to sabotage the movie."
Jolie said in a statement that she wants the Women Victims of War Association in Bosnia to know that she plans to direct the film with the utmost sensitivity.
"Obviously, any dramatic interpretation will always fail for those who have had a real experience," Jolie said.
