London, July 17: Late British reality TV star Jade Goody's life story will soon be made into an opera, which has been written by Afsaneh Gray.

She was thrust into the spotlight after her appearance on "Big Brother" and became a celebrity overnight. She hogged the limelight until her tragic death from cervical cancer in 2009. She was 27.

Gray took three years to come up with the final script, which takes a close look at Goody's life as a study of modern day "celebrity".

The writer was inspired to put pen to paper after working in an office as a medical secretary when Goody first became ill with cervical cancer.

Goody, who had two children, learned about her illness while she was participating in "Bigg Boss 2", the Indian version of "Big Brother" and quit the show immediately.

"Everyone has an opinion about her. The two women I was working with were coming in every day with OK! magazine and they really took opposing ideas of her," dailystar.co.uk quoted Gray said.

"One was like: 'Poor Jade. She's a mother of two and she's dying of cancer'. The other was like: ‘She's a racist, she deserves everything she gets'," she added.

In the opera, directed by Pia Furtado, three singers will take turns playing the part of Jade.

It also features two commentators, one critical and one sympathetic, and a narrator who tells the story of the seven years between Jade's television debut on 'Big Brother 3' and her death.
