London, Jan 29: Singer-fashion designer Victoria Beckham wants to prove herself. She says she needs to work to show that she can be successful without the Spice Girls tag or her footballer husband David.
The 38-year-old's decision to enter the fashion industry was a step towards the same.
"When I was on stage with the Spice Girls, I thought people were there to see the other four and not me. And when I go out with David and people take pictures, I think, 'They're here to take David's picture'," femalefirst.co.uk quoted Victoria as saying.
"It was never my intention to prove anybody wrong. I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it. I don't have to work, I need to work," she added.
She says nothing has ever been handed to her in her life and she has had to work hard for everything she has achieved in the world of music and fashion.
Victoria is determined to instill the same work ethic that she and David, 37, have in their four children - Brooklyn, 13, Romeo, 10, Cruz, seven, and 18-month-old Harper.
