Los Angeles: Singer Gwen Stefani has officially been announced as one of the judges of singing talent show "The Voice", alongside singer Pharrell Williams.
The 44-year-old will be joining the programme with the rest of the judging panel, which also includes stars Adam Levine and Blake shelton, at the beginning of season seven, reports contactmusic.com.
Stefani confirmed the news on Instagram by posting a photo of her own version of "The Voice" fame hand gesture, with a caption reading: "It's true!"
"The Sweet Escape" singer replaced previous judge and singer Christina Aguilera, who has left the show as she was pregnant with her second child.
Aguiler, 33, took to Twitter to congratulate Stefani for stepping in during her absence.
"So excited to have you join 'The Voice' squad Gwen Stefani! Welcome to our crazy fam! Kisses-blondes do it best," she tweeted.
NBC also announced that the replacement is not permanent and Aguilera will be returning for season eight.
