Los Angeles: Craig Wayne Boyd has taken home the winner's title of the seventh season of American singing reality show "The Voice".
He beat Matt McAndrew and Chris Jamison for the title, a statement said.
Born and brought up in Texas, Boyd started singing and playing guitar when he was all of four. He played in a church and learnt to play mandolin from his father. At 25, he moved to Nashville to pursue a career in country music and has made a name for himself in Nashville.
Now a father of a two-year-old son, Boyd has achieved 'heartthrob' status and the ladies love to watch him perform either a power ballad or a classic rock favorite.
The star-studded grand finale of "The Voice", which features celebrity gigs from Bruno Mars, Mark Ronson, Ed Sheeran, Jennifer Hudson, Jessie J and more, will air on AXN India Dec 21
The finale also saw all the coaches -- Pharrell Williams, Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine perform right before the announcement of the results -- on the holiday favourite "Have yourself a merry little Christmas".
