Actress Christina Ricci has confessed that she 'hated' her body and couldn't stand seeing her reflection in the mirror.
She said she had such low self-esteem about her looks and figure that she couldn't see herself in the mirror.
Ricci had fought with eating disorder anorexia post her fame in Mermaids alongside Cher , Winona Ryder and Bob Hoskins when she was just 10 years old.
"For years, I hated myself. I covered the mirrors in my house. I literally couldn't have a mirror in my room," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Ricci as saying.
"I still can't sit in a restaurant or someplace where I can catch my reflection. I get so paranoid."
Ricci, 30, dealt with her body hang-ups with a role in Black Snake Moan movie in 2007 opposite Samuel L Jackson, that required the actress to appear in her underwear only for most part of the movie.
"For that, I needed to lose any self-consciousness because I feel sometimes you can see that in a nude scene," Ricci said.
