Los Angeles, Jan 20: Actress Jessica Chastain says she was shocked to learn that her "Zero Dark Thirty" director Kathryn Bigelow missed out on the best director nominations of the prestigious Academy Awards.
The actress won critical acclaim for her role as a tough CIA agent who uncovers the whereabouts of terror mastermind Osama bin Laden that leads to his assassination in Pakistan. She is vying for the best actress Oscar.
"When I found out she (Bigelow) didn't get nominated, it really felt like an arrow into my heart because so much of my performance is because of her and her trust in me and her guidance in my role," Chastain said on US breakfast show "Today", reports dailystar.co.uk.
