New Delhi: Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie testified before the British Parliament speaking about sexual violence against women by ISIS in Iraq and Syria.

The 40-year-old actress, while strongly condemning sexual violence in the conflict zones, demanded strong action against the terror group.

Angelina Jolia, who happens to be a human right advocate, gave the members of the Parliamentary Committee copies of her film 'In the Land of Blood and Honey'.

In a moving speech, the actress stated that ISIS is using rape as “a centrepoint of their terror” and their destruction of communities and families was ‘dehumanising'.

Jolie even recalled her encounter with the victims of ISIS, some of them as young as seven, who had been brutally raped in war zones.

Terming ISIS as the 'most aggressive terrorist group in the world', she also said that rape is part of ISIS policy and is a ‘very effective weapon'. She added that rape isn't about sex, but rather about violence and power.

While criticizing this inhuman act by Islamic State, Angelina even stated that there was no country in the world where the use of rape and sexual violence was not a major issue and strongly demanded stern action against the group.

Angelia Jolie has been campaigning on the issue from quite a while now. Jolie, along with former Foreign Secretary William Hague, also hosted an 'End Sexual Violence in Conflict' summit in London in June 2014 in order to bring together officals and diplomats from over 100 countries to stand for rights of victims of sexual violence.
