Mumbai, Aug 1: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is all excited about his first Hollywood film ‘Breakaway' as a producer. The film will release on September 30.


The international version of the film is titled ‘Breakaway', while the Indian version will be called ‘Speedy Singh', in which Akshay will feature in a cameo role.

“Dear all, my maiden Hollywood venture, Breakaway (Indian version called SpeedySinghs) is releasing on 30th Sept,” Akshay said on micro-blogging site Twitter.

Directed by Robert Lieberman, ‘Breakaway', is a cross-cultural hockey drama set in the Indo-Canadian community of Toronto, Canada.

The film follows a young Indian ice hockey player caught between family's traditional expectations and a dream to make it in the national sport of his adopted country. Real life hockey player Vinay Virmani debuts in the movie in the lead role.

“Introducing Vinay Virmani as Rajveer Singh, a good ice hockey player in reel & real life and yes he can act! ladies,” Akshay said and also posted a picture of the debut actor on Twitter.

The 43-year-old actor said he would be sharing movie stills of the film. “So you'll can gauge my excitement ;) and support me with your love and best wishes as u always do,” he said. PTI
