Andre Previn, who started composing music for Hollywood at a very young age, passed away on February 28. He was 89. He is known for his works on films including My Fair Lady and Porgy& Bess. His management company IMG Artists has confirmed the news to CNN. The news was revealed in Thursday morning that he passed away after a short illness.
Andre Previn won four Academy Awards, Grammy Awards and a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to music industry. He was also named honorary Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II.
Born in 1929, Andre Previn moved to the United States. He became the music director for the Houston Symphony Orchestra. He work as a music composer on The Fortune Cookie in 1966 and even made music for films like Thoroughly Modern Millie in 1967 as well as 1970's The Music Lovers.
Mia Farrow, his ex-wife, paid her tribute on social media, writing, “See you in the Morning beloved Friend. May you rest in glorious symphonies."
