BookMyShow will start the first phase of ticket sales for the much-awaited British band Coldplay’s concert – the Global Citizen Festival India 2016 – on Thursday at 12 noon.
And the good news is that people will not have to sell their kidneys as the tickets are not priced upwards of Rs 25,000, as was rumoured earlier.
According to an Economic Times report, online entertainment ticketing brand BookMyShow will sell tickets across four phases through its website and app and the tickets available in the first phase will be priced at Rs 5,000 per ticket.
Moreover, majority of tickets to the event can be earned for free by engaging with causes and completing ‘Action Journeys’.
The second phase of the ticket sale will go live as soon as the first phase gets sold out with each ticket priced at Rs 7,500.
Ticket sales for the remaining two phases will go live a few days after that but the prices of those have not been disclosed yet.
Also, there are limited ‘hospitality tickets’ which will offer special benefits including Food & Beverage options, which will start at Rs 15,000 each.
The band is making its maiden appearance in India and the festival will be held at the MMRDA grounds, Mumbai on November 19.
Produced with Wizcarft International and presented by Colors, the event will also feature performances by hip-hop legend Jay-Z, and Bollywood A-listers Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh, Katrina Kaif, Shraddha Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar and music geniuses like A R Rahman, Arijit Singh and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
For the ease of fans, BookMyShow will also be providing end-to-end ticketing solutions including ticket printing for all events. Most tickets will be home delivered, starting end of October.
