Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday began his Bihar election campaign with three poll rallies and lauded Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his efforts in successfully fighting against coronavirus. Addressing an election rally in Sasaram, PM Modi said that if Nitish Kumar government had not acted fast, there would have been many more deaths. "If Bihar had not acted fast, the pandemic would have killed many, many more. It would have been unimaginable mayhem. But today Bihar, having battled Covid, is now celebrating the festival of democracy," he said. The Prime Minister also attacked the RJD, saying Bihar had suffered crime and corruption. The Prime Minister also slammed the opposition for its demand of restoring Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and accused it of siding with those conspiring to weaken India. On the farm laws, PM Modi said, "Those protesting against farm laws want to save brokers and middlemen while talking about MSP and mandis". He cautioned the people against the lies being spread by the opposition parties on the farm laws. Before Modi, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar addressed the crowd and thanked the Centre for its support in the fight against corinavirus. "Under the leadership of PM Modi, we have worked for the development of Bihar. If given another chance to serve the state, we will make sure irrigation facilities and benefits of the latest technology are available at every village," he said.
