The 76th Golden Globe Awards kick-started with hosts Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh. The awards which made a lot of buzz last year because of actresses' protest against sexual harassment took place at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California on January 6 in the US. This according to Indian timing was the morning of January 7. Indian audience was able to watch the live telecast of the awards on Colors Infinity, Comedy Central India and Vh1 from 7:30 AM. The 2019 Golden Globe nominations were announced by The Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the organization behind the awards. Emma Stone, Nicole Kidman, Jessica Chastain, Sam Rockwell, Lupita Nyong'o, Octavia Spencer, Chadwick Boseman, Taraji P Henson, William H Macy among others were announced as award presenters.
Christian Bale starrer political drama, Vice led with six nominations, followed by Bradley Cooper’s directorial debut, A Star is Born, period dark comedy, The Favourite, and the road trip drama, Green Book, with five nominations each. Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther became the first superhero movie to be nominated for best picture along with two other categories. Here is the list of winners.

* Alfonso Cuarón wins Best Director-Motion Picture for Roma
* Jeff Bridges is the recipient of this year's Cecil B. deMille Award.
* Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television goes to Darren Criss for The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story
* Roma (Mexico) wins Best Motion Picture- Foreign Language
* Christian Bale wins Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy for Vice
* Patricia Clarkson (Sharp Objects) wins Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television.
* Nick Vallelonga, Brian Currie, and Peter Farrelly win Best Screenplay Award- Motion Picture for Green Book
* Mahershala Ali wins Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture for Green Book
* Sandra Oh wins Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Drama for Killing Eve
* Regina King (If Beale Street Could Talk) wins Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture
* Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando, and Andrew Wyatt win for Shallow (A Star Is Born)- Best Original Song-Motion Picture
* Justin Hurwitz wins the award for Best Original Score-Motion Picture - First Man
* Carol Burnett is the recipient of the inaugural Carol Burnett Award to recognize a lifetime achievement in Television
* Patricia Arquette (Escape at Dannemora) wins Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television
* Ben Whishaw wins for A Very English Scandal. He gets the award of Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television
* The Americans wins Best Television Series-Drama.
* Richard Madden wins Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Drama for Bodyguard
* Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is Best Motion Picture-Animated.
* Michael Douglas wins Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy for The Kominsky Method.
