New Delhi: HBO has released the trailer of the sixth season of period drama ‘Game of Thrones’ sending its fans in a frenzy. Many questions were left hanging in the air unanswered when Jon Snow was stabbed by his people in the Night’s Watch.
Not just the stabbing of Lord Commander Jon Snow, the entire run of the last few episodes was full of mountainous heights and oceanic depths. The shame walk of Cersei Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen getting lost, Myrcella Baratheon getting poisoned and Sansa Stark jumping from her castle in Winterfell with Theon Greyjoy to name a few of them.
Though these questions hounded fans, they remained buried for many months and they have resurfaced now, with the trailer out in open. While April 24 may seem too far after the trailer’s release, we bring you a list of five things that emerged from the two-minute-long trailer.
Jon Snow might return:
Undoubtedly, this is the daunting question which kept fans awake at night. Few fan theories suggest that it is Jon Snow seen riding horses in the dark in a scene in the trailer. However, we can never be sure, especially when the makers have done all they can to ensure the mystery around his death thickens. In the same clip, we also see Jon Snow played by Kit Harrington, lying next to his direwolf Ghost, so nothing is certain. The only ray of hope on which fans are clinging to are the pictures of Kit shooting in GOT locations.
Cersei is back with a vengeance:
The most hated lady across the Seven Kingdoms, Cersei Lannister (played by Lena Headley) is all set to avenge her walk of shame. King’s Landing’s greatest evil power looked mightily ticked off when confronted by the Faith Militant. "I chose violence," she tells the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce) during a face-off. This means more blood on the hands of Ser Robert Strong – aka the resurrected Gregor Clegane.
Welcome older Bran:
Bran Stark, who was nowhere to be seen in the fifth season, will be coming back in the upcoming one. Played by Isaac Wright, he has grown from the little paralysed kid. And we see him standing too. The only point of discomfort is that White Walker's deathless leader is standing behind him.
Daenerys Targaryen might be in trouble:
Season 5 ended with Dany finding a new tribe and fans thought the Khaleesi found her new people. But the trailer differs. We see the Mother of dragons, in a very dirty state. Has she been abducted by them? Also, Ser Jorah is still in love with her and manages to find the ring she dropped.
Arya looks terrifying:
Arya Stark played by Masie Williams went blind at the end of season 5 and we know it. But, no one would have imagined to see the little fighter look horrifying with what looks like the eyes of a White Walker. Fans are hoping that the many-faced God releases Arya from her punishment and she fights back for the lost glory of the Stark family.
