Following the hack of several HBO Twitter accounts, the hackers have reportedly threatened to leak Game of Thrones season 7 Finale online ahead of its air date. The hackers have also threatened to reveal the passwords for a number of HBO social media accounts. The group which goes by the name ‘Mr. Smith’ claims that they easily breached the security of several HBO platforms already and now they are threatening the makers of leaking the finale episode. Apart from the social media credentials, script and episodes, the hackers have also extracted the personal details of the cast.
Coster-Waldau speaks about this latest leak, “A couple of weeks ago, I get a call from one of the HBO execs and they go, ‘Hey! How are you?’ And at first I was thinking, ‘Oh, I’m being killed off [Thrones]! I’m not”.
The actor also went on saying that HBO can prevent this kind of security breach from happening again by going old school. He says, “I think they’re basically going to go back to hand-delivering and just giving us scripts,” he said. “Just give us the hard copies instead of all this email and digital stuff. I think that’s what’s going to happen in a few years’ time because you know, you talk to cops on the street, ‘What’s the biggest crime now?’ It’s all credit card fraud. It’s all that stuff. It’s digital. So we got to go back to cash.”
The miscreants stole 1.5 terabytes of data including Game Of Thrones scripts, personal employee data and now they have even more information, according to Metro.co.uk reports. They warned, "Be ready for GOT S& E6 &E7 as soon as possible."
