Avengers: Endgame, one of the highly anticipated movies of 2019 across the globe is all set to hit theatres on April 26. The tickets of the much-awaited movie of the Marvel Cinematic Universe were made available for pre-booking across India at 12 am, Sunday and guess what, early screenings were full within hours.
Tickets of Avengers: Endgame were available on BookMyShow and PayTM but were quickly sold out in major metropolitan cities such as Mumbai, New Delhi and Bangalore. Tickets are also available on official websites of cinema chains PVR Cinemas and INOX.
Netizens took to Twitter to express their excitement and keep fellow users updated about online ticketing platforms crashing. Many even expressed their disappointment of not being able to get tickets after several attempts.
“Its 3.30am in the morning and yes the tickets for Avengers: Endgame just started for IMAX: Wadala and i got mine booked. This has never happened before for any movie ever in India. Its crazy and Worth it,” one fan wrote.
Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson and Jeremy Renner, among others. It will hit Indian theatres in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu in India, in formats like 2D, 3D, 4DX, 3D 4DX, IMAX 2D and IMAX 3D. With a runtime of over three hours, Avengers: Endgame is one of the longest films ever made by Marvel Studios.
Early estimates suggest that Avengers: Endgame will mint over Rs 40 crores on day 1. For unversed, Avengers: Infinity War opened to Rs 31 crore on day one and made over Rs 100 crore in the opening weekend.
