Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan has flown out of the country for treatment after being diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumour. Irrfan's film Blackmail will release as per its scheduled date on April 6. However, his another project with Vishal Bhardwaj and Deepika Padukone has been postponed. Filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj said it is only when "warrior" Irrfan Khan returns as "winner" he will start the shoot.
"Irrfan is a warrior and we know he will conquer this battle. Therefore, Deepika Padukone, Prernaa Arora (co-producer) and I have decided to reschedule our film and start with renewed energy and celebration when our warrior returns as a winner," Bhardwaj tweeted.
Makers of Blackmail were also planning to defer its release, however, Irrfan being professional asked them not to do so. ''Abhinay (Deo, director) went and met him. We offered him the idea of deferring the release. But he straightaway asked us not to do that as 'Blackmail' is his most-loved film,'' producer Bhushan Kumar told media.
Last week, Irrfan revealed that he has been diagnosed with a rare disease called neuroendocrine tumour after which his fans across the world started praying for his speedy recovery. Irrfan will also be seen in a sequel to 2017 hit Hindi Medium, which will be helmed by Homi Adajania.
