The film by Meghna Gulzar was appreciated by critics and audience alike and Alia's performance received rave reviews. Alia, who has wrapped up shooting of Gully Boy and is busy with Kalank is quite active on social media.

Alia shared this photo on the occasion of Father's Day. She also wrote a caption along with it which read: ''Love you daddy-friend Happy Father’s Day''. The photo was an instant hit among Alia's followers. It garnered more than one million likes and comments such as 'so adorable' and 'cute' flowed in.
On the professional front, Alia will next be seen in Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy, co-starring Ranveer Singh and in Karan Johar's Kalank, which is a multi-starrer drama. Kalank has an ensemble star cast of Varun Dhawan, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur.
