Thackeray Celebs Review: Shoojit Sircar, Anil Sharma, Shatrughan sing praises of Nawazuddin starrer biopic

Thackeray film is a biopic drama based on the life of late politician Bal Thackeray, who was the founder of Shiv Sena. The film released today, that is, on 25th January with Nawazuddin Siddiqui playing the lead role. Celebrated Bollywood filmmakers including Shoojit Sircar, Rohit Shetty reviewed Nawaz's impeccable performance in the Bal Thackeray biopic.

Deepika Padukone starrer Piku's director Shoojit Sircar watched the film on Wednesday in Mumbai's special screening. On the micro-blogging website, the director then and there tweeted: "Film Thackeray portrays how an Artist becomes a powerful political leader. The film is bold and powerful. @Nawazuddin_S one of our finest actors roars like a tiger.. Congratulations to @rautsanjay61 and @RKpanday1977 ."

As per IANS reports, Simmba's director Rohit Shetty after watching the film said: "It's a job full of responsibility for an actor to pull off a character of a public figure but Nawaz has portrayed Balasaheb fabulously." The 45-year-old director added, "Nawaz is an outstanding actor and I think everyone says the same thing about him after the release of each of his films."

After Shoojit and Rohit, another famed director Anil Sharma couldn't resist to express what he felt after watching this biopic drama. He tweeted: "Best wishes Jus saw #Thackeray so many things I came to about Bala saheb, a  great heroic personality of ind ..  @Nawazuddin_S performed great .. it’s  a rare feather in cap .. congratulations to everyone associated with film .. Specially @AmritaRao #sanjayraut #AbhijitPanse"

While there is a long list of admirers of the film, actor Shatrughan Sinha also tweeted after watching the special screening of the film. He says: "As a tribute to his memory, a film, 'Thackeray' a biopic on the life of Balasaheb releases on 25th Jan'19. I’m told Nawazuddin Siddiqui @Nawawazuddin_S is outstanding & it seems he has done complete justice to the role. He is credible & believable as he plays the late"

The film Thackeray has been directed by Abhijit Panse and it has been written by Sanjay Raut. The film clashes with historical drama Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi starring Kangana Ranaut in the lead role.
