It was only yesterday that Karan Johar’s another ambitious project Takht was announced. The news came out to be more pleasant one for the Kareena Kapoor Khan fans out there. After a hiatus, the gorgeous actress came back on the silverscreen with Veere Di Wedding, which did great business at the box office. Now, a few months later, Kareena has been roped in with Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal’s Takht, which is a period drama based against the backdrop of Mughal empire in India. In the film, the 37-year-old actress will be playing Ranveer Singh’s sister.
Soon after the cast announcement, a report surfaced in the media that Kareena Kapoor Khan hiked her fee by 50% for Karan Johar’s Takht. Veere Di Wedding’s impressive performance at the box office can be credited for this massive jump. A source told Mid-Day, “Though Veere was a four-girl project, the film's opening and initial footfalls can be credited to Kareena's stardom. It is only fair that she capitalise on her star power, which is why she has increased her fee for the next few films. She apparently charged a ballpark figure of R7 crore for Veere Di Wedding. Her upcoming films will have her quoting Rs 10 crore-plus, negotiable depending on the number of days she is required to work on the project and the value she is bringing to the table."

If the reports are to be believed, with this fee Kareena Kapoor Khan would become one of the highest paid female actresses in Bollywood after Deepika Padukone. Not just Takht, the actress will also be seen in Good News opposite Akshay Kumar. Also, she has reportedly signed the sequel of Life In A Metro opposite Arjun Kapoor, with whom she has featured in Ki & Ka.
