Rajeev Sen to marry Charu Asopa on June 16 in Goa; here’s everything about the wedding
After Bollywood diva Sushmita Sen announced that her brother Rajeev Sen is engaged to television actress Charu Asopa, the duo is all set to tie the knot. The couple is looking forward to their destination wedding in Goa on June 16. Charu and Rajeev have been dating for five months and have decided to take the plunge into marital bliss. Talking about her wedding to Bombay Times, Charu revealed that their marriage decision has even shocked their families. She spilled the beans about her wedding date and revealed that the two were supposed to get married in December this year, but Rajeev felt it as too late which is why they zeroed in on June 16.
Talking about the wedding she said, “It will be an intimate affair with just 20-25 people each from our respective families in attendance. Our families had originally zeroed in on a date in December, but Rajeev, during a conversation with me, said that it’s too far. That’s how we advanced the date to June 16. Forget others, even our families were surprised to learn about our decision.”
Charu also went candid about her wedding ceremonies and revealed that she always wanted a white wedding. She added, “I have always dreamt of having a white wedding. So, we plan to have a Christian-themed engagement and I will wear a white gown for it. The idea is to start with white — the color stands for peace and purity — and then add colors to our functions and costumes, with us in red on our wedding day. We will be color-coordinated for all our functions." All the other ceremonies like sangeet, mehendi will also happen in Goa. The duo will later have a reception in Mumbai for their family and friends.
She further added saying, "While the pheras will happen according to Rajasthani and Bengali rituals (Charu is a Rajasthani and Rajeev is a Bengali), the theme for the wedding will be royal Rajasthani. I am in a shopping mode now. I haven’t taken up any new project, as I want to spend time with Rajeev after marriage.”
The couple will exchange engagements rings on June 14. Just a couple of days back, Sushmita Sen took to her Instagram to share a picture of brother Rajeev and Charu and revealed that the two are planning their lives together. She captioned the adorable picture saying, “SHE SAID “YES” You’re the luckiest guy in the world Raja bhaiya @rajeevsen9 Thank you for bringing this #Angel into our lives.. Congratulations my sweethearts Charu @asopacharu & Rajeev @rajeevsen9 Can’t wait for the wedding, I will dance for both sides!!!”
