Legendary actress Sridevi died of accidental drowning in Dubai on February 24, 2018.

Veteran actress Sridevi worked in more than 300 films and gave many spectacular performances. The lady died of accidental drowning in February. Her fans still couldn’t believe that the actress is no more with us. At the ongoing 71st Cannes Film Festival, Sridevi received a special honour for her contribution in cinema at Titan Reginald F. Lewis Film Honours. Filmmaker Subhash Ghai took the award on her behalf. A special footage of the veteran actress was screened at the popular film festival in front of the renowned filmmakers across the world.

Subhash took to micro-blogging site Twitter and wrote, “It was honour to receive Award on behalf of legend @SrideviBKapoor at @Festival_Cannes yesterday for her outstanding contribution in indian cinema n shared my experience with impeccable inimitable actor to western audience hosted by Titan Reginald F. Lewis film honours.”

Earlier, talking about the global recognition bestowed on the legendary actress, Boney Kapoor revealed to Hindustan Times, “I’m happy that people from the world over are recognising her body of work and her contribution to cinema. Even though the overwhelming emptiness of losing her remains, it’s comforting to know that she lives on through her work.”

Lately, Sridevi’s husband and her daughters Khushi Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, attended the National Film Awards ceremony as the actress was honoured with Best Actress award for Mom.
