Death certificate has been issued but the chances of her body being released today are slim. Furthermore, it is being said that Sridevi's husband Boney Kapoor might be questioned.

There could be a further delay in the return of Sridevi's mortal remains with the Dubai police informing the Indian Embassy that another "clearance" was awaited before it could release the body of the actor, who according to the government there, died of accidental drowning in her hotel bathtub after losing consciousness.

The Dubai Public Prosecutor called up her husband Boney Kapoor and the hotel staff in an effort to ascertain the exact circumstances that lead to the drowning of the veteran actor. The investigators were also reported to be looking into her phone call records.

Uncertainty over when the body would arrive in Mumbai and the many questions surrounding her sudden death only intensified as the day progressed.

The Dubai Police officials have told Khaleej Times that the Indian actor's death was caused due to drowning in her room apartment 2201 Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel after losing consciousness. The case has been referred to the Dubai public prosecution for further investigation.

Dubai Police releases body for embalming, but probe into death will continue. The actor's body will soon be moved to the Al Muhaisana embalming unit and will be repatriated to Mumbai at the earliest.

Sridevi's body is not being embalmed today. Embalming likely to take place at Sonapur by noon on Tuesday.

Leaving everyone shocked, Sridevi passed away on Saturday. Earlier, it was being said that the lady passed away due to cardiac arrest. Now, everyone is waiting to catch the last glimpse of the veteran actress.

"It has been sent to the Bur Dubai police station. Both the representatives have gone to the police station with it. Once it is opened by Dubai Police and the information revealed to them, then the next step for the process of repatriation will be decided," according to the latest news report.

Furthermore, the Dubai Police has ruled out foul play. It is expected to take three more hours to complete all formalities on its end, which includes giving an NOC and a local police visa for the repatriation of the body. The death certificate, however, is expected shortly.

The body of the actress will to be flown home on Monday. A report also said that the officials expressed hopes that the repatriation can be completed by Monday.
